HIV infection is related with sex . Its transmission is also possible with blood and from mother to child. Today I will discuss about probability of acquiring HIV infection with various sexual and other activities.
Risk of getting HIV per 10000 exposures in blood transfusion is 9250, by needle sharing is 63 and by accidental needle prick is 23.
Risk of getting HIV per 10000 exposures without protection in receptive anal intercourse is 138, in insertive anal intercourse is 11, in receptive penile vaginal intercourse is 8, in insertive penile vaginal intercourse is 4. Risk is low in receptive and insertive oral intercourse.
Risk is negligible in Biting, Spitting, Throwing body fluids semen saliva, or sharing sex toys.
Factors that may increase risk of HIV transmission
STD, acute and late stage of HIV infection, high viral load, if lady is mensurating.
In vaginal sex more chances of infection if sex is tried in - Doggy style, Wheelbarrow style, Cowgirl woman on top style, Froggy style.
The risk of HIV infection in child from mother is 30-45% during pregnancy, labour and breast feeding.
If blood touches the undamaged unbroken skin there is no HIV risk.
HIV can not survive for much time outside the body, so risk from blood on objects is minimal.
Even after protective condom some STDs may spread from skin to skin contact- Herpes, HPV, Syphilis.
